Just want to share my recent photo shoot experience over at Taiwan in May this year.
We had previously gotten this package some time back late last year during the wedding fair over at VivoCity. Elly was serving us at that point in time and we took quite some time to decide to take up the oversea wedding package with them. Like many others, we were not that sure of what to expect after signing on that dotted line of the contractual agreement. Maggie and the staff did advised us on what to prepare for the trip beforehand to help make things clearer.
Fortunately, things went well for us with some minor hiccups.
The studio is located on Level 4 of the building (A short walk from Shuanglian Station). There are a lot of bridal shops located in the same vicinity over there, quite similar to the Tanjong Pagar road in Singapore. We went on to select the gowns on the first day with the patient and helpful staffs. It took us about 4 hours to select the 5 gowns. Unlike the bridal studios in Singapore, BlueBay Wedding Studio (Taiwan) have the luxury of space to display all its selection of gown, which makes it easier for us to know what are the colours/designs available (apart from choosing gown design from ipad).
We then went over to the partnering vendor that provide the groom suit, with the cab fare on their tab. Based on the package, we were provided the basic colours, white and black with tuxedo and blazer cutting. The suits are well tailored to fit and they look decent on its own. However, if you looking for the more trendy colour such as blue or grey which they do command a slight premium top up. Same goes for the neck ties and bow ties. Point to note, if you are looking to make full suits over at Taiwan, you might consider doing it over there with average cost from SGD450 to SGD1K.
On the actual day, we arrived early over at the studio at 9am and commenced the makeup for the bride (2hr) and groom (1 hr). We used 4 ampoules in total. While waiting for the makeup to be done, we communicated with the photographer and his assistant about the styles and poses that we wanted. We make request to have handheld boards, rose petals, sparklers and helium balloons (They have the helium tank in the studio). As the package we took up included the MV, the videographer begun taking video and that lasted the whole day. We had spent almost most of our time at photoshoot wedding venue which is about 1 hr drive from the studio. We spent a total of 8 hours for the whole day of shoot, which can be quite draining under the hot sun in summer. It was a pity that we did not managed to use the sparkles as it was too windy that day and that balloon went to waste as it flew off with the gust of strong wind.
We were previously told that the photo can be selected the next day before we came over to Taiwan, but there was some miscommunication. After understanding the situation with the photographer, we made some last minute adjustment to our trip itinerary and got our sneak preview on the 4th day after coming back Tai Chung. Choosing photo was never an easy task, especially when the photos were nicely taken. The staff was not pushy towards asking us to choose more photos, giving us space to decide on our own. This process took us a 4 hours and we were glad that we went through all this pretty smoothly.
Overall, we had a good experience with BlueBay Wedding Studio services and other deliverables. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the crews for their dedication on their services, into making this pre wedding photoshoot a pleasant and enjoyable time. Special thanks to the main photographer for burning midnight oil on the editing of photos and keeping up with our impromptu changes, and to the assistant that helped to spot little mistakes during the photoshoot and lighting up our faces with that reflective board under the hot sun, to that MUA, my fiancée really love your hairdo and makeup that came from your swift hands, to the videographer for staying professional after countless NG. Not forgetting the staff at BlueBay studio for their attentive service. =)
We are definitely looking forward to the day of reviewing the edited photos and MV.
Summary of things to take note:
1) Do your homework and research about the wedding studio and packages.
2) Ask around your friends and forum for recommendations.
3) Roughly know what kind of grown, suits, photo style and places you would like.
4) Entrance fee for wedding shoot venue: Average 4500 TWD for 4 crew + 1 couple.
5) Average time spent on photo selection: 2 to 6 hours depending on how picky you are.
6) Photo ready for selection: approx. 2 to 4 days after photoshoot.
7) Photo preview after editing: approx. 20 days after selection.
